A Cup£19.00I just love this item. Did you know that this design, and many others in the same series, was invented by two lovely potters called Danka Napiorkowska and Roger Michel who called themselves Lustre Pottery. They made them by hand and then sold the design to Carlton who produced rather inferior examples. They also did the cow in the bath design. (We at Cybergrot need to see one of these urgently - editor)They are written about in a book a wrote called 'Potters on Pottery' with Elisabeth Cameron. Can't check dates exactly as I have lent my only copy to lovely Richard Dennis.(We at cybergrot would like to see both of these urgently - editor) There was a pottery dealer called Christopher Strangeways who had a shop at World's End in Chelsea which is where I first saw Roger & Danka's work. The quality of their cups was like Leeds Creamware - not this alas.. (Are you saying our cup's a bummer? If so you are liable to get barred from Cybergrot for life - editor)
