An Art Deco Plate
It seems to us that the person who hand-painted this art deco plate was having a really bad day! The design - a bold arrangement of yellow flowers and green and grey leaves - has largely missed the plate altogether. There is one small patch on one side, a bigger one on the other – but where is the rest of it?
We can only assume it ended up on the table.
However the result is a good stylish piece, characteristic of the 1920s/30s. No real marks on the back – couple of painted dashes – to tell us who made it… But that’s hardly surprising come to think of it!
Good condition – a few scratches – a tiny nick on the underside of the rim (not visible from above)
9 inches in diameter.
