This fabulous example
of Carnival glass was made by the Imperial company of Bellaire in Ohio (that’s
in the USA doncha know?)
Quality manufacturers
of this stuff after about 1910 and suppliers to none other than
Woolworths. This plate is in the ‘Acanthus’
design . Production continued until
1930 and after the depression they were going strong again in the 1940s. Another quiet patch and then they started up
again in the 1960s and closed in 1985.
Later pieces are marked with LIG – ours isn’t.
Now you may be
wondering how we come to know this stuff and the answer is quite simply that we
know more or less everything….
Wonderful condition
apart from a possible nick on the stand
These sell for $80 in
the USA. We are offering ours for a
measly £25.
“Beautifully iridized” (An
American term meaning it is iridescent)
About 10 inches in
diameter.
LOVELY!!
