Baden Powell Mafeking glass plate

The town of Mafeking (held by the British in the Boer War) withstood a 7 month siege under the leadership of Baden Powell.  It ended in victory and great were the rejoicings in the UK when the news broke… leading to a new verb being coined…. To Maffick = To celebrate extravagantly and publicly.  Thus you can say “I am going out mafficking tonight”   So why don’t you – eh?  eh?

This charming plate survived the general maffick and we are offering it for sale. And no we can’t find a thing wrong with it.

10 inches in diameter.

We have 2 other plates by Greener and Co on this site (provided they have not been sold of course). To find them just type greener in the search box.
