Edward Radford (1882 – 1969) established Radford Handcraft Pottery in England around 1930 and is famous for his art deco handmade, hand painted wares. Usually these have designs of trees, flowers and so on.
The printed mark on the base of this pretty little jug says Radford. England Handpainted. . The impressed number 488 stands for the shape of the jug, the hand painted green S3 (that’s what we think it reads) for the painted design.
This charming hand painted piece probably dates from the 1930s or 1950s and is in perfect condition
Height 3½inches, diameter of base just over 2½ inches, diameter of mouth 3½inches.
