This is an absolutely lovely vegetable dish with cover (some people call these tureens but we pedants are not so sure – a tureen is a dish for serving soup – this is for vegetables). It is in the Blue Lily pattern. Hand painted we believe –there is a lily on the lid and also one at the bottom of the bowl.
Although called Blue Lily – Grey would be a better description – the predominant colours are grey and yellow and very nice too.
Just imagine those sprouts in it on Christmas day! This is well nigh perfect piece – there is one small chip on the base (see photo below) – this will not affect the delicious flavour of those sprouts though and there is only the slightest wear to the paint-work.
But we don’t recommend putting it in a dishwasher though… Give it to the mother-in-law to wash up by hand.
