This lovely piece of glass comes from an ancient stained glass window – it is almost certainly Victorian. It shows a stylised capital with quatrefoil decorations and a pleasing leaf-frieze running along the top. It is black and grey. The colour in the photo is an illusion – do not be fooled by it. We leaned the stained glass against our window and the colour comes from exotic parrots that fly around our gothic office building (this is not 100% true but we like to dream). The second photo – taken against a piece of white paper actually gives you a much better idea of what it is like.
Filled with character this would make a perfect present for an architect, or someone of antiquarian interests.
Not quite square it measures approx 5 x 5½ inches.
