Now you may think that you have seen crown-shaped moulded glass bowls like this in every Car Boot or Yard Sale you have attended but this is not so. The normal common or garden glass Coronation Bowl may have a passing resemblance to this one but… if you look carefully you will see that they are seriously inferior. For ours has not only EIIR in the base but also the words ‘TO COMMEMORATE CORONATION OF QUEEN ELIZABETH II 2 JUNE 1953’ around the inside.
Apart from the odd moulding flaw it is crack and chip free.
You could wear it on your head as a crown, or turn it upside-down and wear as a hat – although we suspect that there is a good reason why glass hats have never caught on…. Alternatively what better bowl for one to use for one’s trifle?
Top diameter 8 inches, base diameter 4½ inches, height just over 4½ inches.
We are selling this on behalf of a very important Lady who has indicated that one is a bit short of the readies and that one is open to offers.
