Pop Art

This is a classic example of what art historians call Pop Art – ‘imagery drawn from popular and commercial culture to satirize or give emblematic value to familiar objects in the 50s and 60s’.

The familiar object in this instance is Dürer’s pop and he is clearly in his 50s or 60s.

Ha ha ha.

A very good reproduction done in the middle of the 20th century – a print mounted on oldish looking wood (well faked) with a jolly nice pseudo 16th century gilded Florentine-style frame.

Frame measures 14¼ x 16½ inches

A real touch of class for only £27 (ono)
