Basil Brush Money Box

Yes! Dated 1972 this is a glorious tribute to our national treasure Basil Brush. A truly er ….special work of art and a useful money box to boot!

We are impressed with his impressed bottom that reads:

'Basil Brush Ivan Owen & Peter Firmin. 1972'. Firmin made the puppet and Owen did the voice – he died in 2000.

The foxy gentleman Basil Brush appeared at Prince William's fifth birthday party and he met the Queen three times. He was also invited to Number 10 Downing Street to meet Jim Callaghan!

He would make an ideal leaving present for the right person

He is about 8 inches high, and in very good condition although there are a few small chips on his blue jacket and elsewhere – these could easily be coloured in.

The rubbery bung is still in place

He is quite grubby and we guarantee we will not clean him – ha –ha –ha

Boom boom.

Fancy him but not the price? You might try an offer although Mr Brush has made it clear to us that he will take offence if you do.
