No date given but we have found a reference –“now abridged owing to the War” and we fairly confidently date this to 1917 or 1918.

The paper quality – poor

Condition – poor but intact

Cleanliness – doubtful

Interest – great.

 

The Ads are particularly pleasing:

 

Bird’s Nutritious Custard –“ rich in fat and just what we all now need”

Turtlekon Real Turtle Soup made from the finest West India Turtles in DELECTALAND, Watford. (Someone from Watford please tell us this place still exists!)

Always use BUMSTED’s SALT which is pure salt.  (give the copy writer a medal)

And we think the ad for Lockyers (see below) is in particularly bad taste given that this was produced only 5 or so years after the sinking of the Titanic.

And there are endless lists of the current exhibits of course.
